A Tradition of Caring® Scholarship

As a family-owned business with a century-long tradition of compassionate service, we are committed to the well-being of our community. That's why we instituted the Tradition of Caring® scholarship for students planning to enter the nursing field. Our scholarship was established in 1999 to encourage new and aspiring nurses in their field of study.

Each year a $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a nursing student in each community served by a Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. The award is based on academic excellence and community involvement and is open to college students and high school students pursuing a degree in nursing.

For your convenience, an application is available for download below. Applications are only received in printed form. Please do not submit applications via e-mail. Applications should be submitted to your local Penwell-Gabel funeral home by January 31, 2009. Scholarships will be awarded in the spring of 2009.
